Battle.net Improvements/You no longer need discs'

Not sure if any of you knew, but Battle.net (the main site for Blizzard game accounts) just went through a major upgrade. Anyone that actually owns* any Blizzard games, like Diablo II, WC3, Starcraft, and WoW should register them with a Battle.net account. Once you have your game serials registered with Battle.net you no longer need the game discs to install the games.

You simply download an install executable from the Battle.net website... and presto you download the whole game from them and it will work. It's just like Steam, except you instead download a simple executable instead of having a whole download client.

I love this. It's great to play SC2 without a disc. I can run through the campaign and play online with my account without the disc, while my brother can play the campaign and skirmish as a guest by downloading the executable through my account. Wink

I would also recommend getting the Blizzard authenticator for free on your iPhone or Android phone.

When the wife and I moved into my inlaws house, i had removed the authenticator from my iphone so that I could factory reset it. No sooner had I done that, that someone hacked my account, put on their own authenticator and proceeded to use my 80 toon as a farming bot. I got it back after have blizzard ban the account while they investigated. But the moral of the story is, put the authenticator on your account and leave it there Smile

Its actually been like that for quite some time. Ive DLed my older games ive registered many times over! But I do agree its pretty pimp
