Also if you are at a campfire and the smoke comes and gets in your face all you have to do is repeat the line "I hate rabbits, I hate rabbits, I hate rabbits" and it will go away.

“Rabbit rabbit white rabbit” is a common superstition. The most common modern version states that a person should say “rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit” or simply "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" upon waking on the first day of each new month, and on doing so will receive good luck for the duration of that month.
For our family we have shortened it by saying simply 'Rabbits' meaning 'Good luck will be yours thru out the coming month' or 'we wish you good luck' As time went on our family almost look upon a missed 'Rabbits' month as bad luck month, lol
This superstition is related to the broader belief in the rabbit or hare being a “lucky” animal, as exhibited in the practice of carrying a rabbit's foot for luck. Some have also believed it is representing a jumping into the future and moving ahead with life and happiness.[citation needed]In Yorkshire it could only bring you luck if said on the 1st of March. |
